I feel disconnected!!
« on: 01, July, 2010 - 10:14:51 »
Hi again,

I have stripped one of the 2 C5's i bought and its time to start the repair and rebuild process.

There are 5 connectors under both the C5's i have that join nothing!  my guess without studying the wiring diagrams is that they are possibly for the optional 4 indicators and a horn. Am i correct or can one of you guru's out there tell me what they are???

Also there seems to be whats left of a chain tensioner connected to the chassis by a spring. Is this item essential and do replacements exist?

I know i am being a bit lazy and the answers are probably already on this site if i look but this is the quick way to get the best answers as you are all so helpful and surely my time is best spent working on the C5 as opposed to trawling the internet!!!

Thanks in advance

Nick

HI THERE AND WELCOME TO TO GROUp  :)
Those wires are for the horn and indicators etc, and are not used unless you have these extras fitted.

The chain tensioner is required as it also helps reduce chain slip and depending on what is missing, should be repairable.

Put some pics up on here and i am sure someone will point you in the right direction to get it going.

Here are a couple of threads to get you started.
