Could someone identify the manufacturer of the INDICATORS???
« on: 21, November, 2010 - 23:32:58 »
Since I don't have a set, I was wondering if someone could please give me information on who was the manufacturer of the Sinclair C5 Turn Indicator Kit...specifically the manufacturer of the light lenses themselves. I'm trying to track down this information. Sinclair had them made by someone. There are only a handful of light lens suppliers in the world (usually made in china). Could someone also give me any other stampings or numbers on the four lens, such as manufacturing dates and serial numbers.
ANY INFORMATION WOULD BE APPRECIATED.

They were all made by MAGNALITE, England.

Ther front indicators were / are exactly the same in design as those fitted to some BL vehicles such as the Early Metros and Land rovers etc.

Hope this helps

As Plod says, front c5 indicators are virtually identical to the side repeaters fitted to early miniMetro's. Adam says the dimensions are the same but the colour is slightly different. I think Chas found a supply on Ebay ?

The rear c5 indicators are unique to the c5, someone noticed that some indicators meant for a Yamaha TZR were similar but that was as close as anyone has ever come to finding a copy.

Thanks everyone for the information on the Indicators. If anyone can find a number stamped on them I would appreciate it. If I can track some down, I will let you know.

One more favor. Could someone photograph (VERY CLOSE UP) the FRONT and REAR Signal Indicators with a good Digital Camera?? Would appreciate your help and posting them here on the forum (or email them to magictimothy@aol.com). Still trying to track these down. Has anyone else tried to find the original mechanical drawings or injection molds for these well-sought after signal indicators????

Chas,
The photos were very clear. You jumped on that one fast. Thanks again. You should consider uploading them to this site for others who want to reference them. Might help identifying indicators found used at bargain sales (we refer to them as "garage sales").
