G'day,
I came across this the other day:

The article title eludes me right now, but it was something along the lines of 'Top 200 gadgets of all time'
The text reads:
186  SINCLAIR C5  -1985-  This battery powered "freewheeling trike" required no tax, insurance, drivers licence or, the unkind might say, no self respect. "The best selling fully electric vehicle of all time." Sinclair still boasts (it sold 17,000).
