A world first for a C5?
« on: 02, May, 2012 - 17:36:36 »
With the new 18mm drive belt & cable tie round the wall that holds the gearbox up that Karl fitted I now get no belt slip when pulling away just using the motor. ;D If I do only use the motor to pull away, will it cause any premature wear to the gearbox or the big drive cog?

Hi there Kamilb not sure what you mean but you should never pull away with just using the motor unless you are going down hill . But I would never pull away unless I was peddling ...Regarding wear you will wear out the small cog on the gearbox first ...And that could cost you a lot of money to replace the .....
bye Chas

Could damage the inner gears I should imagine, but more likely the motor commutator as its close to stall . would definitely with my weight  :-\ :-\

Chas, what I mean is that I get no belt slip if I use the motor from a standstill. And I was just curious as to whether it could cause any damage to anything even if I don't get any belt slip.
