** SOLD ** C5 for sale
« on: 24, May, 2012 - 15:37:52 »
A recently overhauled c5 now up for grabs.

Although not a full restoration project, this c5 has had the following work completed ;

- new c5alive wiring kit

- new front inner tube & tyre

- new front brake blocks

- new headlight decals

- new side stripes

- new wheel decals

- new rear tyres & tubes

- new drive belt

As you can see from the pictures the bodyshell is in a fair condition. Sadly there have been a few holes drilled where I assume a previous owner has fitted some gadget type accessories, but the floor is sound and the c5 is in a presentable condition.

The accessories shown are included, it has ;

- Sinclair indicators ( working)

- Sinclair horn kit (working)

- Sinclair foam seat cushion

Service work carried out includes ;

- front wheel bearings greased

- new rear wheel bearings (brake side) fitted and greased

- motor removed, dismantled , armature cleaned & gearbox greased

All in all a presentable c5 ready for use priced at £445 ovno. Reduced to £395

Price does not include a battery or delivery.  Delivery can be arranged at extra cost , please contact me for details.

That capped hole in the left side will be good for securing it in public I reckon.

I love the look of the CityJets. Almost want to wear out my sinclair one especially.

Anyone looking at this who doesn't know Karl - I have one of his restorations and it's properly done, a perfect restoration and a great guy to boot!

At least C5's don't leave all their unwanted stuff behind when they leave!

Now reduced to £395

Looking at recent Ebay sales that roughly equates to the cost of a set of indicators and some mirrors !

Not much more than the indicator set alone  :-\ Goes to show that if if want indicators buy a C5 with them already fitted, But at least someone will be able to enjoy it knowing it was a good buy.

The sad truth is this c5 was worth far more if I had broken it and stripped it for parts. Just the indicator kit ,seat cover,horn kit and lights would have sold for more. And it would have saved me the time, effort and resources used to get it up and running and in a clean presentable condition.

Strange old world  :-\

I have a C5 here with indicators and horn that i was going to list on E bay, i might hang on to it ow for while,  as you say  i could Break the thing for spares :)  I wouldn't be happy doing that to a fully working C5.  :o

Hope your one went to a good home and they appreciate the bargain they got.  8)

I suppose this is true of most classic vehicles. There will always be the guy's in it for making some cash from breaking them and those who want to rebuild and keep them going - the two will always be hand in hand but it has to be a careful balance between the two which will dictate price - I remember paying a fortune for a rear wheel bearing because i wanted originality and as they were rocking horse poo at the time I was happy to pay it - now that a massive stock has surfaced they are a cheap item - enough of the deep thinking im of for a cruise  :) :) :) :) :) :)
