I ordered a new exhaust yesterday and cleaned up the rear wheel rim and painted the spokes on both wheels - this really transformed the overall look of the 'bike. I also wire brushed and painted the centre & kick stands as they were also quite rusty.

Ordered a new rear mudguard earlier today, managed to find a UK company selling them for £30 incl. P&P. Once that arrives I'll look into booking it into the bodyshop for welding and, if I can afford it, painting.

The new rear mudguard arrived yesterday and it looks like it will fit with minor fettling required. I've bought a new seat cover for it & a pair of mirrors for it today and will post some pictures when they're fitted.

The total spend on parts has now exceeded the purchase price.  ::)

Wait until you own a Porsche-then you'll know what spending on parts really means!

My brother has a Boxster convertible, so I know what you mean  :o

MGF's on the other hand are quite cheap and cheerful  8)

Looking at the fire damage on my mates 911 , probably just as well  :D  His alternator seized, starting a chain of events that resulted in fuel pouring over the exhaust & catching fire  :o. Luckily a passing motorist with a fire extinguisher saved the day, otherwise that would have been a horrific end to a beautiful car.

It took longer than expected but the seat cover has finally been fitted and I have my new pair of mirrors on.

Also, anyone spot what's different about the back of the 'bike? ;)

Yup. I doubt I'll ever use it to be honest. I'll be looking at getting a new CBF125 or similar for commuting when I'm 17/18.

I've listed it on Shiply with the hope someone can transport the ol' girl to my mechanic for the welding.

In the meantime however, I have bought a new kickstart shaft oil seal as the original one has just started to weep slightly, a new pair of tyres - I went with original style items that would have been fitted when it was new & a footpeg bar with rubbers as the old one was slightly bent.

I will fit these when they arrive & will post pictures on here.
