We've been invited to support Spike, who is organising this event  8). Here's a copy of his email ;

  Hi Karl.

Have attached an entry form for you and any other of your club
members.
Will be good to see you there..

Regards
Spike

If anyone else wants to come along and exhibit their C5 either contact Spike direct, or myself, and we can forward an entry form via email.

Some info copied from the entry form;

MAIDSTONE  CLASSIC  TRANSPORT  SHOW

SUNDAY  MAY  3RD  2009

10.30AM  -  5.00PM

TO BE HELD IN WEEK STREET, MAIDSTONE
ALL CLASSIC CARS,  BIKES,  AMERICAN CARS AND HOME BUILT VEHICLES ARE WELCOME

THIS IS A PILOT EVENT,  SHOULD THERE BE SUFFICIENT INTEREST IT COULD BECOME AN ANNUAL SHOW

THE SHOW IS BEING ORGANISED WITH THE BACKING OF MAIDSTONE BOROUGH COUNCIL,  WITHOUT WHOSE HELP THERE WOULD BE NO SHOW

WE AIM TO KEEP RULES AND REGULATIONS TO AN ABSOLUTE MINIMUM BUT WOULD ASK THAT  :-

A)      YOU ENSURE THAT NO OIL IS LEFT ON THE
           ROAD
B)   MARSHALLS INSTRUCTIONS ARE ADHERED TO

C)       NO TRAFFIC MOVEMENT BETWEEN
            10.30am – 5.00pm EXCEPT UNDER EXCEPTIONAL
            CIRCUMSTANCES

I dont think point (A) applies too much to us , unless you've been over enthusiastic with the chain oiling & gearbox greasing  ;D

It would be nice to have a group of C5's there, plus it's a chance for us to chat about all things C5 with people that are interested in them  ;). When Martin and  I did the Ardingly and Amberley shows last year it was amazing to see the level of interest the C5's generate.

ps - Spike is a c5alive forum member and built this;

Alan , just a reminder - if you (or anyone else) want to attend this you'll need to fill out a form that needs to be with Spike by the end of the month.

Contact Spike or myself to obtain the necessary form. :)

Yep, Umpa was there with his camcorder so it was all well documented   8)

I didn't get chance to take any piccies at all, so busy chatting with people who stopped to admire the c5's  & the mini-el   ;D. Our small display was well received with quite a few taking the chance to have their photo taken sitting in a c5. Some also recognised "moneypit" off the Gadget show.

The car show itself was unusual in that it was spread out over a couple of streets in the town centre shopping area, so there were a lot of people coming and going.

Spike did himself proud though, putting it all together and producing an amazing collection of vehicles. It was great to have been included in the invites  ;)

Best of all the sun shone all day, leaving a few of us a nice shade of pink  :o

Here are a couple of piccies that Angie took while we were setting up;

Umpa took a few more which I'm sure he will post once he has recovered from his long drive home  :)

As you can see there was quite a bit of interest in the Sinclair C5 and C5Alive.
I would all thank karl & Angie for letting me attend & for their hard work and effort they put into C5alive.

Some good picces there mate, sums up the day nicely  8) Hopefully the long journey was worth it ! I'm glad you made the effort ,it was nice to have some help chatting with the visitors  ;)

Everyone who stopped to chat seemed genuinely interested in the C5, with most people agreeing it didn't deserve the ridicule it received in 1985.

Most impressed with Maidstone, nice venue and friendly people   :)

Glad you liked it, the more lazy I am with the camera the harder it gets to make.

Sorry Andy - no Daisy Duke - would have been nice !!!! :P
