First time C5 owner and my new instrument panel
« on: 30, December, 2013 - 12:15:34 »
Hello all.

I bought a tired looking C5 from a friend who found it in the back of a barn he was developing. Here is a short story from my company website about the condition etc - http://fletchermoorland.com/fletcher-moorland-to-resurrect-sinclair-c5/

As I found out quite soon and from this helpful forum, the Ferranti ULA chip was dead. I decided to make a new instrument panel that was pretty basic and hopefully true to the original design and feel of the C5.

You can see from the photo that I've added (from left to right) a digital ammeter to measure the motor load (Current), a temperature gauge to measure the motor internals (removed the cut-out from the motor armature and added the sensor here) and lastly added a battery charge indicator.

Only had it out on the road a few times but already love the looks that I get.

  • 4 legs may be better than 2 but 3 wheels better then anything!

Intresting read thanks for sharing - ps I do believe I have seen your companies service tags on the motors I have installed in my work.

Hello StokeMF
Welcome to the forum, another Stokie. All I need now is to see Ritchie Kelsall commuting to work on a C5,
