Melted head light
« on: 02, April, 2014 - 20:31:42 »
Anyone got a headlight that's a bit broken going spare?

I had a couple of Led spot lights "fail" in the kitchen and was away to throw them out when I decided to strip them to look inside them.
They consist of a transformer and rectifier to take the voltage down to - 12v!

So I promptly took the LEDs out and connected them to a 12v battery, and hey presto a 6w lamp throwing out as much light as a 45w halogen.

So with a dremmel and some screws I think I could resurrect an old front lamp with some decent lighting, so anyone got one to part with I can test?

Cheers John
