Title: Motor testing
Post by: Lancealot on 09, November, 2010 - 19:17:09
Hi can anyone advise if its ok to test a C5 motor directly connected to a 12v leisure battery. ie red wire to + terminal and black wire to - terminal. I presume I can ignore the other wires.

Yes no problem - be careful you'll get a bit of a kick  :)

Hi, thanks for that it looks like I have a dead motor, this C5 I got is looking like a bag of nails but will get there. Can you advise what the resistance between the + & - should be. thanks

might be worth removing and refitting the brushes, if it's been laid up then possibly they are stuck in the holders.
