I would look at a fan to keep the motor cooler...............

It does help and easy to do......................

See the 24v motor cooling it is ok for standard 12v (just get a 12v fan)

Next time you give it good run and the red LED  is on have a feel of the motor, just to confirm it is really getting that hot, could well be a spurious reading being caused maybe by a faulty component(s)  :-\

Let us now how you get on.

I think it might be something else causing the issue - the RED led is showing a high load on the motor rather than a heat issue which will cause the overheat circuit to cut in and shut you down for a set time - as Plod says check how hot your motor is - think it will be either a fault in the motor or a component breaking down after a certain time in the control box .

Just to clarify you have two banks of LEDS - the ones on the right hand side show your battery condition - the ones on the left hand side show motor load - it is the left hand bank of leds  you need to keep in the green - ps how old is your battery ? - Can you describe the fault you are seeing reffering to the left hand bank (motor load)or the right hand bank (battery condition)

Have you got a dragging brake, a duff bearing, or are running with tyres semi-deflated?
