25 things to do on a Sinclair C5
« on: 12, November, 2009 - 09:51:04 »
Just for a bit of fun , similar to those "100 things you must do before you die" type thing , what should be the list of 25 things you must do on a c5.

You never know, we could tick a few of them off over the next year or so  ;D

I'll start the ball rolling;

1) a meeting abroad - somewhere flat, Holland ?

2) a lap of Brands Hatch

3) a meeting at night  (in the summer !), maybe central London to view the sites all lit up ?

4) London-Brighton (one for umpa !)

5) get Kelly Brook to test drive my C5  ;D

6) speed test a modified c5 at Santa Pod

Anyone else come up with a few more to take it to 25 ?

7. Cruise with 25 C5's

8. Get Sir Clive to appear at a C5Alive event in a C5.

9. Discover what happened to the Lotus C5's and go on a run with them.

10) Ask JPS marketing where their promotional C5's went and see if they can be re-used

11) Demonstrate the practicality of using a C5 opposed to walking, cycling or driving a car

12) Demonstrate the 'C5 Grin'!

19. Get altogether and go and knock on Sir Clive's door so he can see that we all love our C5's, meet the man himself and invite him to join us for a run to the pub and back, so we can buy him a pint, and some scampi in a basket.

20. Appear on tv (I know some of you already have, but its still on my list)

21. Over take more !

P.S. I like the idea of a night run, sounds good.

How likely / possible / approachable is this situation?  I'd probably travel the duration to experience that!  Having a pint with a living legend would be amazing!

Loving some of the ideas coming up on here - superb behaviour  ;D

Sadly, I doubt that Sir Clive will be joining us anytime soon - since he declined our invite to "C5-25" I get the impression he doesnt seem to do nostalgia   :(

How about, finding a hill on a road several miles long and have a speed trial downhill?

Great idea Ray, but we won't find one around flat old Norfolk.

Do you mean Sir Clive himself declined, or his team refused to put it in his diary?  I'm thinking that there may be a slight chance that he (like the Queen), may have people answering mail on his behalf, and he may not have even know you wrote to him..  Would this be a possibility?  As I don't know what response you had, I can only assume it was from someone on his behalf.

I would be interested to know whether Adam carries any weight on this?  Do you think there'd be any chance at all Adam might be able to 'talk Sir Clive round'?  After all, it's not as if there's a load of people who want to cause him hell...  It's a truly professional outfit from start to finish, and all attendees would be there to see the C5 in all its glory.  As intended 25 years ago, a vehicle which has finally become a legend in it's own right, is now (after so many years) begun to prove to the world that electric transport is a reality, as seen in some of the wrld's leading car manufacturing..  Could they be copying the C5's principle?

Blimey, I get quite passionate about this don't I?  Sorry.  ...  I'll get my coat!

My own guess is that he knows about the event and has decided not to attend. I would like to say that if he decides to pop on for a few mins we would make him very welcome.

It's been a quarter of a century and the machine is still in use, let's go celebrate !!
