Title: Trailer for C5's
Post by: Umpa on 29, October, 2010 - 15:37:54
Hi guys, I need a new trailer for my C5's.  Now marks getting older he's going to want to attend some meetings, but as it stands I can only tow 1 C5.  I'm looking to get a custom trailer made that can move 2 C5's (perhaps 1 on top of another) a bit like a car transporter.

If anyone knows of a firm that could help me out plz let me know

Cheers

You don't want a trrailer that can only carry two c5's, you need one of these  ;D;

..might need a bigger car though  ;)

Hello Umpa,

Since I have no Trailer at all, I transport my C5 on the roof rack of my car, Just take out the battery, and you lift it up with two persons easily. Two straps and Presto, there you go!
I found out that I could drive 70 mph easily. If you want to transport it dry, just put some sort of sail over it.
Saves a Trailer! ;)

For those of you with trailers for your C5's I have an insurance policy that covers them for accidental damage, fire or theft, public liability and cover is provided in Europe. Must be secured with a wheel clamp OR hitchlock when not in use.

All car insurance policies include third party cover (ie. your liability should you cause damage to someone else/someone else's property) but don't cover the actual trailer itself.

A recent policy sold covered a 10 year old trailer for £600 on a comprehensive basis, for £89.00.

Ring me on 01353 775114 during office hours for a quote. I don't charge any fees to fellow C5alive members so make sure you tell me you are a c5er when you call!

..nice trailer though, should fit two c5's in there one on top of the other  8)

Being enclosed should catch any bits that fall off, and save the c5's from getting grubby  ;)

Hi guys,

See the thing is I'm limited for space and money - lol but space more than anything.....

I figured if i had one made I could shove it in my C5 shed (there is a pic of it on here somewhere) and that would make my ramp and shelf in the shed redundant.  I'll see if I can find the pictures and link them to this thread.  So if anyone knows of anyone that does this sort of thing without charging the earth it would be great..

cheers

edit:- the forums doing so well and there are that many threads that I cant find it - BUT not to panic I still have the photo

It might be that it would be to narrow ?  but we will just have to see :)

Why not mount the shed on a small trailer chassis.? NorthernTooluk.com are selling new trailer chassis kits for £219.95+VAT at present,quite a saving on the regular price.

As I wrote earlier you can put it on the roof, being terribly 80's, :D but very effective.
This was last sunday when I collected A new Sinclair, a road virgin  8), on the other hand it's a bad thing, since I have two now, I going to need a trailer as well! :) (http://lh6.ggpht.com/_za9Q6sbThGc/TM_sVerte_I/AAAAAAAABKg/sLLaqRlu8ZU/s800/IMG_2397.JPG)

Before buying my Toyota Estima, I would carry two c5's in a similar way - one on the roof, and the other inside  ;D;

 :D I only see two and a half,  :o
but a good idea , I have a car-bonnet carrier also, so I will take a look to see or I can carry (is that correct english) the second one on that, instead of buying a trailer, for witch I have no place anyway.

I am going to get roof bars - since my Estima  has no sunroof and thereby be able to carry 3!

With 3 C5s, you can only take two people, so I will need an alternative to be able to take 2 kids, 2 adults, luggage and a C5 (or two) for next years holiday!

Darn, I had the perfect solution to take five people and the dog, five C5's and all of our luggage, and me, being stupid, sold it!  >:(
