An unexpected benefit of supporting Brooklands Museum this year, and building some strong links with them, is that they have offered to host a Sinclair C5 25th Anniversary meeting next year.

I will be sorting out some more details over the next few months , but  hopefully we can put something really worthwhile together.

Is this an event that everyone here would support ?

It's great to see there is support for this event, with luck we can put on an event to be proud of that will also impress the Brooklands team.

Thanks for the offer of help as well, once I've got a better idea of what is needed I'll take you up on your offer  :)

Not too sure about the DVD though, surprisingly there wasn't exactly a huge take-up on the superb Brooklands DVD from September '08 - which is a real shame & makes me a bit wary about arranging another one. It's something to discuss though, so who knows.

The dvd's should be a free download Karl, to be fair its not like buying parts for a C5. I would love to attend loads of meets but wont buy a dvd of them.

Perhaps upload them to youtube - they dont need to be a pro production.

If anyone wants to film one of the c5alive meetings themselves and load it onto "you tube" etc ,then that would be really fab. No-one would have a problem with that being free.

The filming of the Brooklands '08 meeting was different though, as the DVD was professionally done for what was expected to be a big event for us. The idea was that those attending might want a properly made memento of what turned out to be a superb day. Given that David used his own vehicle, fuel ,time and equipment - not just on the day but in editing as well - combined with the supply of DVD's, cases and production costs I'm sure you'll agree it's a bit much to expect something of such high quality for free...

I totally accept no-one asked us to arrange it, so yes it was a bit of a gamble. But understandably I now have limited enthusiasm for sorting out the filming of any of our future events when there clearly isn't the demand to justify it.  Not a whinge, or a rant, just being practical and identifying it's something we tried that didn't work out as well as expected.

Karl, Oh I see yes that makes sense,
may I suggest a low bandwidth trailer ?
I mean even big movie makers always send out a teaser.

If I were to see whats on it - I might have purely for collection purposes.

Karl,

Like Andy, keep a DVD aside for me, just not had a chance to catch up with you yet and have been looking forward to seeing it.

Count me in also for the celebrations and likewise anything I can do to help let me know.

Kurt.

Cheers mate - it's always worth people posting their support for these events onto the forum. It helps with any negotiations if I can prove there is genuine interest in the event being planned.  :)

Can't wait for the big event, although can't wait to join you on some run's this year first, i feel a bit alone here with no one to play with, who is the nearest to Kings Lynn as i was thinking it would be fun to get out a bit more with someone else and have a laugh ? Karl's got Angie, Steve and Martin for the odd little jolly (I have sugested getting another c5 for Karen, but that did'nt seem to thrill her too much)
