Title: Motor removal
Post by: Umpa on 03, February, 2009 - 16:06:41
hi guys

Well I stripped the machine down and found the motor tight and the rear break stuck on, and the left wheel built up incorrectly.

I freed the motor by squirting penetrant in it just to check if the stater magnets had slipped - and it freed up and i was able to move it by hand but still very stiff.

put it all back together to find its not fixed it. Now it cuts out and flashes all the left side pod lights.

I think the motor is still to stiff, so before I take it off the machine totally - do the red and black wires (the ones that go to the brushes) simply fit on with spade connectors or is it something else.

cheers

ian

Its these wires

After looking at some pictures on here I get the impression that you need to remove the wires at the control box end.

Is that correct ?

absolutely correct - disconnect the wires at the control box end, otherwise you create extra hassle with the brushes.
