Title: newbe looking for a C5
Post by: lord Petrov on 23, January, 2011 - 22:55:38
I'm a fresh C5 fanatic electronic engineer from Belgium (vlaamse ardennen)
In the day time I repair industrial motor controllers with power from 0.75kw to 250Kw
In the evening I develope computers and motorcontrollers for e-bikes

It looks like a good project to buy a C5 and put a silent 1.5Kw brushless E-bike engine on it.
some 72 Volt Li-Ion battery's for the power and one off my computer display's to reduce the power and speed to 250w and 25km/h when needed  ;)

know one for sale in Belgium, Holland?

Hi Peter - welcome to the c5alive forum.

Looking at your post I'm guessing you're over 18years old, so I've moved your message out of the section reserved for our younger members.

It might be worth chatting with Frank (in Holland) about sourcing a c5 closer to home. Also, you are most welcome to place an advert in the "wanted" section of the forum;

There are always c5's coming up for sale on Ebay as well, so hopefully you should find something fairly easily. Don't forget to check out the buyers guide and read through some of the messages in the support section to find out what goes wrong. That way you can haggle a good price and not pay too much for a poor one  ;)

Hey Karl,

"Strictly no grown-ups allowed" as my daughter always says, I'm a 41 year old teen  ;D

I've found a dirty C5 for 125€
Tomorrow I get detailed pictures.
Ideal for my project.

A very gentle grade of wet & dry sandpaper plus some soapy water would have looking great in no time.

No problem if you're going to turn it into a brushless motor project, or if you've changed your mind you still have an ideal candidate for either 24v or run it on a relay ;

Chas does a motor and gearbox , or I have a used one you can have.

You could still end up with a useable c5 for not a lot of money  :)
