Cars and Painting

Well - I love old british sports cars like your midget so I'm trying to make mine really classic looking.

I took loads of before pictures then my phone reset itself doing an update and I lost them all.  >:(

Here are a couple that my workshop took. I think they have more:

This is the car as I bought her. The roof is down so you can't see that the ragtop is a little bit scrappy. Still watertight though so it'll be fine for the summer.

A good polish and some new wheels made a big difference.
The silver hardtop needs the paint touching up but will keep her dry through the winter

She already has
Adjustable coilovers on each corner
Stainless steel sports exhaust from manifold (sounds amazing)
A few other mods in the engine bay - but mostly just swapping the old parts for new shiny ones.
The main thing is she was really well looked after by the previous owner. So mechanically very sound, just needs sorting cosmetically.

So far I have:
New Rota RB wheels with Toyo Proxies all round.
Hardtop
Stainless steel front grill (the old one was missing)
Some waterproofing underneath
Chrome heater kit for the dash
Chrome rings around the vents
A steel cover plate for the tacky looking drinks holder
Style bar fitted (like a roll bar but just for the look of it)
My favourite part of all... replaced the hazzard and light switches for toggle switches! Amazing!

Still to do:
Brushed steel speedo surround
new dials to give me MPH instead of KMH
Touching up or recover of the hard top
Silver stripes to tie in the silver top to the body
Rally circles for the door
Also need to get a rattly exhaust cover welded
I'm going to have some work done to the tan interior to restore it

In the future I want to get t-house front bumper and a new tan roof, proper roll bar and maybe a bit of tuning.

This is the dream (except mine will have more silver / chrome)

MX5's are very competitive cars for Autosolo events-sprints around cones against the clock.Very low accident risk-no helmet , suit, or MSA licence needed, and unlikely to exceed 40 mph.  Car must be driven to the event, entry fees are ridiculously low for a motoring event, and they occur all over the country. Great day out, and you will learn the low speed limits of you and your car quickly and safely and cheaply. All you need is a tyre pressure gauge and pump, some chalk(to mark the tyre sidewall/crown in three places around each tyre) or if you cannot afford chalk use a pyrometer instead! and membership of an MSA registered car club which gets invites to your relatively local autosolo events.
Did 3 seasons of it in my Porsche.

Looks amazing. I would love some rota's. is yours a eunos or an mx5?

thedesigntailor:
Thanks buddy - It's a Eunos.

No where near as clean as your beauties but I love it!

thedesigntailor:
PS - I love your paintings. I used to manage an art gallery and I'd say that they would sell very well.
Do you sell them?
