Cheap batteries !
« on: 15, May, 2010 - 09:01:53 »
Hi, would anyone by interested in a battery ? We have some new old stock car batteries at work, but certainly useable for a C5 or even your car maybe ? They have been in stock a couple of years, but have been charged up every three months and all test ok.
We have either 063 or 065 batteries to choose from (I have been using the 065 on Charlie for the last two years and has worked well) the price is £20.00 for the 063 or £25.00 for the 065, if anyone is interested let me know.

Hi Andy, I'd be interested in one mate. What kind of performance are you getting from the 65?

When it was new about 16 miles on a charge, but that has dropped off to about 12 miles know, but I have been using it for two years. Once I have some numbers I will confirm with each of you and sort out collection/delivery via the Royal run.

The next time I will see any of you sadly is on the Royal Run, if anyone who wants a battery is coming along to the run then pick one up then, or maybe if someone would be kind enough to pick one up for you ? As Karl says with the weight and the acid and as the idea is to offer a battery at a good price posting wouldn't be a good option.

I live in king's Lynn Norfolk, but having spoken to our parts manager this morning about these, he is know not so willing to let me have any as a bulk purchase, I will keep working on it and if I can get some I will update post.

Just got off the phone with mdsbattery.co.uk 0800 3102100 having negotiated a price for their EVX 12400 40ah cyclic SLA mobility battery of £54+VAT ex-Enfield Middx. Carriage is only £4.99. This battery and its smaller 34Ah and 37 Ah siblings is claimed to be good for 300+cycles. Charging by Battety Tender or C-Tek type 3 stage chargers is recommended for maximum life, rather than using a cheap car charger.
Mike is the contact, mention the Sinclair C5;otherwise the price will be up in the £80 odd range.

After having a chat with the manager in the parts department at work I reckon I can still get a few batteries although they have gone up by £5.00 after he realised I was after 6 or more from his stock ( I think he knew they were too cheap) If anyone wants a battery at still a good price then let me know.
