Printed plastic parts are layered, therefore shear stress is low.

  • 4 legs may be better than 2 but 3 wheels better then anything!

I have seen some of the things you've made and they look fantastic.

How about making some of those grommets that go around the holes for the mast on the back?

I'd order some of those, I lost one today :(

I guess so. I've not got any wing mirrors to work from though.

It's quite possible we can do the rear indicators though.

I've been working on the 3d model for the hub cap, so i'm hoping to have some test prints up soon!

I have a reprap mendel - build from parts. the build area is approx 200mm widht x 200mm height x 150mm high - plenty for a wing mirror and centre cap :)

You are right about that one, but that is a crazy piece of machinery!

We'll all have them one day :)

  • You don't have to be mad to own a C5, but it helps

Let me know when you update to a machine that will print a C5 body shell.  ;D

Oh! You can also put me down for some centre caps, that is if the price is right.

The day I can print a C5 Body shell is a very happy day indeed!

Centre caps are still WIP. One of my problems is I havent got a colour close enough to the real one :(

The 3d model is essentially done, but still needs a little work as it is a little rough around the edges.

How brittle or felexible is your material?

It's quite flexible, all depends on how its printed really.

I have two materials, PLA and ABS. PLA is more brittle and ABS is harder to print with.

Will be an interesting experiment either way :)

Just thinking it would be nice to have a shell in Royal Stewart Tartan.  :D

I wouldn't have all that hard work, and not have to worry about scratches and scrufs.  ;D ;D
