Hi Henrik - if you want to keep the standard Sinclair motor then a 4QD 24v controller and throttle assembly will give you better hill assist and a little more top speed depending on what power setting you set the controller at.

There is a problem in that the gearbox will be damaged by the power increase.  This is why we are experimenting with metal gearbox conversions and alternative motors;

The instructions for fitting the 24v kit are still available in the c5alive download section.

Hi BooBoo

the original sinclair c5 motor is to weak, for my setup,  i want to use a 2-3000Watt motor with a 36 or 48V controller. the hole rear axle and transmission has to be rebuild so it can handle the extra power.

...something similar to "Challenger" then  ;D;

24v 1kw motor from an HGV tail lift. Built for ascending Test Hill at Brooklands Museum, so more for torque than outright speed.

Henrik, try the burton 250 kw engine. ;D ;D. I am afraid you loose the trunk then for some space.
You don't think. that if you build a 1 to 3 kw engine your range will be very limited?
Maybe take a look at quasimodos site www.sinclairc5.nl. he is in the proces of building a 750 watt version.
Where are you in Denmark, I'll visit the Skive Viborg area next year.

greetz, Med venlig hilsen

Frank
