Hello From Suffolk
« on: 11, September, 2010 - 22:12:36 »
Hi All,

Just acquired a C5!!!! I don't know anything about them. It has dual key thingies, no battery connectors and no battery.

Could someone please help me to get started.

I guess I need a new battery but what? And how do I connect it?

Best Wishes.

Hi - and welcome to the c5alive forum  :)

The choice of battery is subject of an ongoing debate about which is best; leisure or car batteries. Various threads in the "tried and tested" section show peoples experience with each of them, leaving you free to make your own decision  8) This link takes you to a good example;

Looking through the forum guide is always a good idea, where you'll find the link to that excellent mine of information: the unofficial handbook  ;D

Hi!

I've pretty much read the entire forum - but all gobbledegook to me.

I'm impatient to see if it goes. Is there a battery and some form of connectors that I can buy tomorrow from Halfords?

All I have is 2 x small plastic boxes with key holes. I'm missing (I guess) the key and the battery connectors. So do I have to take the plastic squares off and wire direct to the brown and blue wires??

Thank you.

Martin

suggest just buying a couple of type049 45Ah batteries and Ford Cargo battery terminals, then relieve the holes in the battery tops andcopper strips to accept the studs on the Cargo terminals, and your away with cheap lightweight batteries and a total of 90Ah capacity.
