Another mad idea from me today ;D.
Making a set of custom canvas side panels that come up to the top of the body. A metal/plastic arch that slips into each end. A plastic window sewn into another canvas part would attach to this arch. Then, a canvas part with a front & rear plastic window sewn in would zip into the top of the custom side panels with the side windows installed on the arch. Something like this;

By 'strengthened canvas' I mean it would probably have cardboard in between two layers or something. The rear window would probably be supported on two poles coming out of the place where the high-vis mast would usually slide into. It would be held together with zips/Velcro for easy of dissassembly.
Share your views on this, anyone think it would actually work?

You could use a similar tube as for that of the masts but the weight of the canvas and plastic will probably be to much.
It will need something quite strong and largenough to cope with the weight. You would be better looking at plastic like a babies buggy cover.

That was what I meant, the flexible plastic window sort used in car convertible hoods etc.

I wouldn't bother with the side panel - just over the top and front like on some of those scooters

Or try the novelty of hat coat and gloves.

Sounds like a good idea, but the only concern i would have, would be that if it's fully enclosed you might get a bit of condensation building up on the inside, which could restrict visability.
From looking at pictures of the Upmobile ( the C5 with the enclosure over the top ), that had a vent in the back, to allow airflow.

If you really do persist in building a canopy I stock a non-yellowing fire retardent clear flexible PVC ideal for the window areas and lightweight fire retardent waterproof 500FR fabric in various colours for the sides and roof. A framework welded up from plastic pipes should suffice- you have to try to keep the Cof G from becoming too high particularly with a narrow tracked three wheeler.

the roof is foldable and fits in the boot.. so im sure it could be made so you can store it in the c5 original boot..
not only.. but the holes for the mast could be used as fastenings point for the hinges..
doing the roof can be made in fibreglass so really not so much work..

fabric is a simple solution over a plasic pipe frame and doesn't require the making of a plug, a mould, and then the roof which would need to be nicely painted or gelcoated.
