There are so many great events being organised on these pages but they all seem to be so far down south ;)
I'm hoping to bring my newly restored C5 to one or two events this year but it would be great if we could arrange something more convenient for us northeners...
Any other North-ites on here who'd be interested? I'm on the Wirral (north west).

Hmmm... That's usually the image southeners have of Liverpool. Usually the ones who have never been there ;)
That said, the Wirral isn't Liverpool. It's pretty rural where I live and very flat (apart from the hilly bits of course).

I was up that way in my old job alot, loved liverpool, people very friendly and nice. Never been to the wirrral though so it could be a good day out once i change engine on saab. There is a lovely newly built cycle path between soham and ely which is smoother than a babies backside so will try that one evening in the week. Its about 3 miles long right beside the river so will take some pics and post on here.

Hi yes I live in Manchester and Coverman lives Leeds and we have both mention that we are up for a northern run.
thank

I think before the summer's out we should throw a few ideas about... good locations etc.
Must get some roof bars for my car though. I have a Fiat 500 and there isn't a chance in hell I'll shoehorn my C5 into it. Not even with a tub of grease and a sledgehammer. ;)

There are 5 other C5 users and myself in the Fylde coast and Preston area and 2 in Crosby and another in Skem. We tend to have gatherings on Blackpool prom south to Cleveleys (15 miles round trip ) Southport also.To the southerners thats flat ! As its so easily mistaken for Ben Nevis all around these parts. Blackpool prom is having a major revamp and the tram tracks taken up so its all shut, looks like Southport could be for 2011.

Thanks ok with me I used to live in Southport & still got my brother living near Ainsdale beach. I am in just a date & time as long as not working .
By the way it is open to the southerners if any want some northern hospitality.... ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Apparently they need locking wheel nuts, immobilisers & alarms before venturing this far north as we are so crime-ridden up here ;)
Seriously though, Southport would be cool with me as would anywhere else in the north west. I'm easy going with dates - I'll make the time. ;D

As long as they dont come up wearing long tails and top hats, pickpocketing and singing a song of sixpence and calling us all ' Guvna ' , then yeh.
-
4 hour trip for me so could do a sat if i came up fri night and travel lodged it, depends of course on work but it would be good to get away and do a run. Not sure if top hat and tails will be back from the dry cleaners but picking pockets will be good ;)

Northants is about same distance for me as going to Blackpool.Depends on date.
-
Hey how come all of you lot live down south :P
-
I'm not really near anyone or any thing over at Cleethorpes!
No real hills here either :)

Just my thoughts on the debate about where the meetings are located. Before I purchased my Toyota Estima, I would hire a van to take the c5's for Angie and myself to the various meetings at different parts of the country. We travelled hundreds of miles from Crawley to Weston Super Mare,Chelsmford, Ascot, Bournemouth & Norfolk to name but a few - a bit pricey but always worth it. As with most hobbies, I find that c5's can gobble up your time and money when the demands on both are high and a balance has to be made. But I reckon life is what you make it and what you get out of it is directly related to the effort you put in - the memories from attending virtually every c5alive meeting from 2006 onwards (before I even joined the forum !) are priceless, as are the many friendships that have grown from meeting new people along the way.
Personally, I physically cannot fit in many more events for this year - but I'd really love to see lots more events being sorted out by everyone else, using the c5alive forum to meet up and have a laugh. It all helps to keep things going , and if you do arrange a run yourself at least you know you wont have too far to travel :)

If everyone can post there location I'll have a crack at organising something!
Me Fezza - Selby North Yorks

I was in the immense Heaton Park Manchester this week and spotted a portion of pathway that could be isolated to form a racetrack. There are several C5's at MOSI and they might have enough influence with Manchester city council to persuade them to allow us either to have use of that specific pathway or to use others for a run through the park. I took my C5 to a MOSI do once so could speak to the guys there if there was sufficient advance intetest from other northern C5 owners
-
Heaton park is 10 mins from me (on the c5), I go there all the time on it.
I am up for that, Not a big run and a few hills but great fun. Get lots of peaple asking you about the C5's.

Hi all I am ready for a northern run, Manchester, Leeds, or somewhere else NORTHERN lets try and organise something whilst the weather is good.

Leeds parks tend to be very hilly (except Golden Acre but there is no alternate park for the walkers).and they arent as big as Heaton Park.
Who is going to ask Machester Leisure Services?
-
I did this by mistake and don't know how to delete it
Sorry!!

Hi Dave
Well I'm up north, I live near York.
-
North Manchester here.
I have slight restrictions as I don't have a vehicle to transport my C5 in. I have to rely on friends.

Could always hire a van for the day? Not too expensive at around £50/day.
-
No not that far from you Dave, about 10 miles from York near Stamford Bridge.
-
???Hi I live up north but sadly on the wrong side of the pennines compared to most of you but I do have a brother that lives north of Manchester. I wish more members lived nearer. I don't mind a bit of a travel as I travelled over 600 miles to collect my C5 from Karl . Its a real pity as a few mention a run along Blackpool but I can assure you our coastline is far superior to Blackpools and has many miles of clifftop bike paths

I think a run would be a good idea Dave , where were you thinking of?
-
Flat is easy! Warm is dependent on what clothing you wear lol!
-
If only they'd let me take a C5 on the train :( My car is a few inches too short too, so can't close the boot if the C5 is in it, so I can't get much further than Burnley (where I live).
That said, in the summer may be able to hire a van for a day.

You should had bought Marty's C5 trailer if your car had a tow bar
-
It doesn't, otherwise I'd have been tempted!
-
I live in north Manchester and if anyone else close by wants to share the cost of a van that would be good.

Im situated just outside blackpool with 4 C5's. Could do with some help with the electrics on three of them if anyone is willing.
-
I come to Blackpool on a regular basis with work. Always happy to have a look.
