HI All
im starting up there thread showing a little what we are making as a living
among other things we make entire new Messerschmitt bodies !
and they are made entire in steel or on request aluminium.
below are a few pics.
my idea.. is to let the member of these forum design the C5 for for the 2000 !
think of the idea.. it will be very followed up int the UK. big papers and TV will be interested.
the C5 club would been given a huge boost . our C5 will increase in value too !
my idead is very simple. lets ut toghter with a help of a designer make a version of the C5
but improved. the looks should be there . maybe incorporate a roof as on the Benelli Adiva " when not in use
it will stored in the rear boot"
maybe make its slighty higher/wider bigger ?
we will just made "for now " the body so the power train configuration will be up to anyone
im sure if someone can make it there will be people helping them out..
these is a no "rush"  target we can use these thread to thinking/writing about it,,
eeyh! we could even maybe ask Sir clive about he thinking of it?
maybe use some ideas from the drawings he made for the other C vehicles?*
the project can definetly be made. we made our messerschmitt body from start to end within 1 year..

just made a quick pic with help of Photoshop
using the roof of the Benelli and sidescreen to get more protected
roof as you can see could be folded and stored in the rear trunk
if the driver is higher the rear parts of the roof could be rised " like the neck cushion in a car"

Please remember the regulations regarding maximum permissible weight of the vehicle, and the maximum permitted power of 250W. Also, the cost will be enormous due to the limited quantities involved. Someone on this forum called Electric Dave has already made a fibreglass monocoque facsimile using small motorcycle front forks and wheel., with a very powerful electric motor but with no pedals.Possibly the fibreglass shell moulds could be utilised ?

why not skip the entire 250 watt idea?
go a step further and built it as a kit car?
with proper roof. bigger size it can be used as a "real car" with longer range etc
like the CityEl for example
the cost of the body will not be that high.. we could make one for around 1000-2000 £

Such a vehicle will have to meet all the relevant European vehicle legislation in order to pass the IVA. It would need a powerful motor, lots of relatively expensive batteries,a battery management system, charger, proper wheels, tyres, brakes, suspension, safety systems, and  it will end up costing similar to a four wheeled kitcar, of which there are plenty, and most are very lucky to sell 2 per month. The fact that running costs of a purely electric vehicle should be minimal may present a market though.
Cost it up first, suggesting based on using secondhand Fiat Panda steering suspension and brakes(relatively light cheap and good and obtainable from scrapyards everywhere) and secondhand lighting from a production car or motorcycle(not much LED stuff in scrapyards yet unfortunately). All the secondhand stuff the customer has to supply themselves of course.

im aware is a costly and crazy idea.
but i was thinking for those "hard core" C5 owner who would like  to
have a new . bigger and improved sinclair vehicle based on a the old design drawings
and the typical C5 look..
on the other hand i just bought anothe vehicle that looks a lot like the C5 bigger brother
so it will be easy to re-badge it as sinclair . "just for fun"

Why not "electrify" a Messerschmitt? You already have the bodywork.
