  :) Hi everyone,
My name is Chris Wish and i am a children's magical entertainer from Berwick Upon Tweed. I bought my c5 yesterday off eBay and was supposed to be in good working order, but after replacing the battery, no sign of life?
Being new to these very special vehicles,i have no idea what to do next.Still that's life, and i suppose if i ask around i may get lucky.
I  look forward to chatting to all of you in the future and to increasing my knowledge of the C5.
Regards Chris Wish

Hi Chris - welcome to the forum and the world of C5. Hopefully we can get it going between us all. Can you tell me what sort of battery connections you have ie. original Sinclair battery top and key switch of something different. One of the first places to look if it is 'dead' is the fuses in the control box 1 is 5amp and the other 1amp - you will need to remove the boot and you will see a black box - unscrew the top half of this and you will see two glass fuses. Also make sure the red connection to the display pod is fully home as this will cut all power. (Check this first)

Have a good look around the topics in the forum as most stuff will be here. The golden rule if in doubt just ask because someone will know !!!

Enjoy and hope your up and running soon

Hi Chris just posted your controlbox/pod ....

I found out that it looks like it has been connected up the wrong way round

The damage done to the control box was :

The 5 volt regulator blown ..now replaced
The op amp 358 blown    .. now  replaced
Also R1 blown                .. now  replaced

The damage done to the pod was :

Transister 3 blown.. now replaced
Also R21  blown ..now replaced
The ULA has also suffered It will only lightup the pod with no volt drop and no reading on the left that lets you know when to peddle .
But C5 will now drive ok ...
