Title: Horn Kit & Canopy
Post by: mhurt on 07, September, 2012 - 21:24:26
Just bought a Sinclair Horn Kit on eBay (paid a bit more than I intended, but hey ho!) and just wondered if there was anything else I would need to get for the fitting before it comes?

I've also got the parts to start building a rain canopy. I'm using plumbing supplies for the frame - 15mm PEX pipe and some push fit Tee and Elbow joints. Will post pics when I start assembling. It might not look as amazing as some of the others people have used, but it will be relatively cheap, light and should suffice.

I am interested in how you make this rain canopy, I assume it would cover the rider?

Yes, curved from the front to meet uprights from the mast holes, with clear, waterproof fabric stretched over, and flaps down the side a little. I dont want it fully enclosed due to misting.

Where would it attach at the front? I was considering making one which had the front two poles slide into the side panel pockets.

As I'm on a tight budget, and I don't really want to drill any new holes in the body, I'm going to try mounting it behind the pod, secured by Velcro straps around the pod (it doesn't function properly anyway).
If that's not secure enough, then I'll reconsider that approach, but I think it will be OK.

Once I start building (hopefully tomorrow if it's decent weather), I'll have a better idea if it will work or not.

If you need clear plastic, we stock it in 3 different gauges, and supply by the linear metre.

I'll be contacting you once I've got the frame right. Just held up a bit by not being able to stand :p
