Title: Advise needed please
Post by: Carl Gordon on 27, May, 2013 - 08:09:39
Hi, I fully restored my c5 last year and everything worked fine, I got it out the garage yesterday for the 1st time, charged the battery and it doesn't work! All lights work but motor doesn't, the motor does work when connected directly to battery so the motor is ok, checked all the wires for bite marks but all seem to be fine,
Is there anything else I could check?
Thanks
Carl

Hi Carl - Have you checked the two fuses in the control box ? (1 amp and 5 amp) - Another common fault is the red harness to the pod - give it a wiggle whilst pressing the 'go' button -  Marty

Hi Marty, both fuses are fine so I wriggled the pod wires and the motor went for a split second, now all the light have gone out on the pod, I have cleaned the connections but still no joy! Could the pod be broke?
Thanks

Hi Carl -sounds like a dry joint on the pod connection. Are you able to resolder them?

Hi Carl -slowly getting there bud -the clicking noise is the relay -are you using the original key switch system ? Are the lights frt and back ok ? Check the fuses again but im pretty sure the problem is in the pod connections - let me know how it goes.

Hi Marty, no I'm not using the key system and the front & back lights are ok! I am re soldering the connections at the weekend so hopefully it will be sorted, thanks for all your help,
Will let you know how it goes.

Have you checked your battery voltage, i have had the same problem and found it was the battery volts were low, all lights normal but clicking from the control box relay.
