Heading out for a Bank Holiday ride.
« on: 02, January, 2012 - 13:21:46 »
Hopefully heading out later on a route around the local villages. Comes in at about 9 miles, but is also quite hilly in parts ( with some excellent downhill sections  ;D ) so i'll have to see how far i get.

It also has a part that's great for Red Kite spotting  :)

Will report back later and let you all know if the hills defeat me  :D

I went to a local Airfield's New Years Day Gathering. With planes, military & classic vehicles, no photos as yet but it wasn't the biggest of events, a turn out of just over 100 people I believe, but the C5 attracted quite a lot of attention. ;D

Ouch, that sounds painful  :( ( the back, not the airfield show  :D )

Well went out for the run, and made it back in about 1hr 10mins  :)
Was a bit hard going on a couple of the hills, but the scenery made up for it . Managed to see an owl and several Red Kites flying overhead  :)
One downhill near the end not only was quite steep, but also bumpy with a curve at the bottom .... definetly had my fingers perched over the brakes on that one  :D :D

Was a nice route out but i'm not sure how it would work as a run for everyone due to the hilly bits, but maybe later in the year, a few more could try it out and see what you think. We could even fit in a trip to the zoo as the run takes you right past this place which is about 5 / 10 mins drive from my house  :)
