Is anybody interested in another Norfolk Run,this November.
If so,suggestions for what day are invited?
Ray.
Update - set for 30th November
-
were in norfolk
-
The Norfolk meeting would take place just outside the small town of Watton.
-
I'm up for it, another norfolk run would be great, i can see it now, if we stop at that pub again it would be lovely if it is a cold winter's day with the fire to warm us up. Or its a warm day (you never know with global warming) then a pint to cool us down will be just as inviting.
I dont mind which sunday although i dont know which firework display where taking the kids too yet, but as long as it does'nt clash i'll be there.

Because of moving house and job commitments unfortunately will not be able to make this run in November. :(
-
If I,m free I,ll come along!
-
Hi
On looking at Karl's shifts the weekend that works best would be Sunday 30th November - 8) for the run in Norfolk.
Angela
-
If i've finished the rebuild of mine then i'll try and attend Ray ;D
-
As a provisional date,we will say the 30th of November, but this can be changed,if required.
I hope to see as many as poss on the day. ;D
-
Nice one Ray , I've amended the title to include the provisional date.
If it changes let me know .
Hope to see you there :)
-

Sorry do not think I will be able to make this one :(

-
Well the date is now confirmed.
Even if I have to do the run alone, hehehe. I will get to that pub and have a few drinks.
One for everyone that cant attend, hehehe.
I hope some of you will make it.
All the best,Ray.

Event will be held at 8 Neville Close,Saham Toney,Thetford,Norfolk.
(We are not near Thetford by the way but just outside the small town of Watton.)
Take the Swaffham road,at the roundabout in Watton High street.
Bear right at the church, and take the second left, then left again.
Arrive between10am and 11am.we hope to leave about 11.30.But no rush.
Run will be aprox 13 miles,so bring two batteries if you can.
For those with sat navs, IP257HR.
See you on the day.
-
Dont forget to place an order for some nice dry weather ;D
-
Looking foward to this one Ray, the Norfolk run was my first run and it was great the get back into a C5 again after 22 years, see you on the 30th, fingers crossed it will be cold and bright on the day.
Retro Andy.
P.S Karl did you ask the person about the raleigh chopper ? because if he did want to sell it then maybe you could bring it with you ?
-
Batteries.
I have a couple of people coming on the Norfolk run ,that don't yet have C5s of their own.
I have sorted two spare C5s out to loan them but I may have a problem finding enough batteries for them.
I anyone has a few spare car type batts they could bring along ,that would be great.
Ubmobile.
Well, after help from two C5 enthusiasts, the Ubmobile has been slightly modded, and so the body no longer sits hard on the motor.
We tried test driving it at night, and were in hysterics!
As the reflection from the pod, onto the canopy, made it impossible to see anything.
I gave it another test drive on Saturday around my village, and it seems to run fine.So for the first time,it will be taking part in the run.
I have also sorted the problem out that I had after the Worthing run.
My C5 would not move backwards.
I had hosed it down to remove the sand that had accumulated from the coast run,and re greased the bearings but the problem seems to have been with sand ingress to the sprocket.Anyway I pumped plenty of oil around and it seems to have fixed it. Hopefully?
I have also arranged for the sun to shine on the day of the run but the only thing I could not change was the amount of cloud between us and it!
See you on the day,
Ray.
-
Ray - I will be able to bring some extra batteries with me.
Andy - sorry mate, the Raleigh Chopper is not for sale, he has now opted to keep it :-\
-
Thanks Karl.
Look forward to seeing you on the day.
Can you also bring a set of quick release battery connectors?
-
Hiya Karl!
Can I reserve 'dave' for a friend of mine who wants to come with me?
He,s a good mate of mine who is talking about getting his own 5 next year.
Cheers matey.

"Dave" is available , but unfortunately I've no means of getting him to this meeting :-[
We're using my MPV for this meet, and not hiring a van. It only holds two C5's & I'm bringing "Voodoo" & "Moneypit" for me and Angie, so sadly I cant fit "Dave" in.
If you can get him there (..and bring him back of course ;D),you are welcome to use him.
-
I,m in lincolnshire so I,ll have to tell him it,s a no go!

Many Thanks.

as my c5 is as dead as a dodo and cant afford a new control box i am gutted i wont be able to make it wich is gay hope you have a good one and will hope to see you all at the next cambridge meet when i have money in the new year cheers guys
-
Alan - whats happened mate ? If the control box has failed, is it worth sending it along to Martin to see if it's fixable ? :-\
Ray - I've got the quick release battery clamps you need, if there's anything else just let me know 8)
Andy - I'll make sure I bring along some stripes
Also I will be bringing my copy of the Brooklands DVD for us to watch at the end of the run ;D
-
Another fab run & top laugh ;D Eight of us out and about on a cold, wet winters day was a good turn out ... everyone was a star 8)
Highlights included Andy overtaking a red Ford Ka on the move :o :D - outstanding behaviour :P
Plus Trevor managing to peddle and use up 3 batteries before reporting a smell of burning towards the end of the run - only to discover the rear brake was locked on solid :o he must have leg muscles like Arnie Schwartzenegger , top effort 8) He found the C5 much quicker with the rear brake released ;)
Wizbat managed a pitstop repair that would have impressed an F1 team , replacing a punctured rear tube in record time !
Hopefully Pauls introduction to "c5-ing" left a good impression, he seemed to be enjoying himself - although that could have been wind ;)
But top honours for the day must surely go to Jason for piloting the Ubmobile round the entire route -a brave hombre :)
Cheers to Ray for hosting the day and providing the tea, coffee and hot sausage rolls.
Now to work out when/where for the next run !

Good set of piccies there matie ;) and that C5 fits well into the fantastic ,and reasonably priced, Berlingo ;D
I told you Wizbat was quick - check out the blurred photo of him changing that inner tube 8)
Ray has sent me a couple of piccies to put on here, plus I need to download my camera .
As an aside, I'm still impressed with my cheapie "Drivemaster" batteries - they managed to do this entire run 8)
-
i am gutted the day i fix mine is the day it ollks like a cool run
-
Thanks guys for letting me tag along.
Had a great time.
Thanks to Jason (Red Feather) for loaning me his C5 whilst he piloted the Upmobile.
13 miles and not much pedalling.
I had a nice reliable C5, which covered 10 miles before the battery gave out.
A fresh battery saw the last 3 miles covered.
The rain was on/off all day, but it was good fun.
8 C5s in a line running around Watton Norfolk.
A few pit stops to change batteries, repair a puncture & let the electric motors cool down.
Pictures . . .

Paul - some cool piccies there mate , specially liked the "on the move" shots . Now you've had a taster ,hopefully you'll pop up on a few more meetings . It's always great to see some more new faces joining in :).
Tom - you've got to go for it mate , the meetings are what this forum is all about. Using our C5's so that everyone gets to see us enjoy them , and not just view them sat in museums etc 8)
-
Its just a shame we did'nt get the over taking of that car on film (no not a parked car, it was driving on the same road as us, just not quick enough for us !)

Thanks to everyone for coming along.Perhaps we could do this run in the summer some time,I am sure you would enjoy it more in the sunshine, hehehe.
Thanks also to Jason for taking my Ubmobile on its first refurbished run.
I still cant believe it made it with no problems!
Looking forwards to the next event.

Hi All!
Had a real laugh last sunday! even tho, that blasted chain tensioner still tried to fall off again and the tyre!! Man! I suprised myself with that one!!.
I,m thinking about making a couple of lightweight supports that you can hang onto the side of the c5 and then roll it onto its side without the body and mirrors touching the ground.
And that will fit in the boot.
Should make roadside maintenance a doddle.
:-)
