In the top picture "NO CYCLING" is painted on the ground, was you sheltering from the rain or is this why you had to stop at that point ?

Sadly some parts of the lovely wide new tarmac had the cycle lane painted out ,the council seemed to have changed their mind in a few places. We spoke with staff at the "Control Office" who confirmed we were not allowed to use some parts of the promenade  :-\
