This is part of the email I received ;
Hi,
>
> I have a Sinclair C5 'high spec', which was given to me by Sir Clive Sinclair as a thank you for my company's participation in the original launch of the C5 vehicle. My C5 is virtually unused, has its toolkit, all-weather covers and original manual. It is complete with wing mirrors, indicators and rear high reflector. It also has the battery charger, but the original battery is gone.
>
> I also have a C5 mug, presented to me by Sir Clive on the day of launch in London all those years ago.
So a genuine 1 lady owner from new , with known history ;)

wow now thats what you call a c5
-
Come on Umpa, get your money out before Ray buys it :D, I would love to get my hands on one like this, just for keeps, but I dont have that sort of money at the moment.

I need to earn more - would love this one !!!!!!!!!
-
Heres the problem - I have no where to put it. My other two sit out side in the rain as it is. I am going to have a custom made shed that might hold 4 - two on the bottom and two on the top - and nothing else. I wont even be able to walk down the sides of them.
I would LOVE that C5 - but like a cuddly kitten It needs a good home.
Space is the killer for me in this hobby :(
-
Do you have four C5's then Umpa ? If you did want it, I would be happy to look after it for you, just taking it for a little run every now and then so it does'nt seize up ;D

************ Now reduced for a quick sale *********************
I've received an email from Jill saying she has unexpectedly sold her house much quicker than anticipated, meaning she will soon lose her storage space.
This superb C5 is now up for a very tempting reduced price of £650 ono , quite a bargain
If it doesn't sell here I guess it will be put on Ebay where it may go for a higher price ?
-
I can't begin to say how much I want this - but Julia says no !
-
Looking at it, the mug should be older than the C5, as all launch C5's should have a grey boot.
-
I want it, I want it, I want it, but can't have it :(

You're not the only one mate - I'm out of storage space and have got all my pennies tied up in other projects... :-\ :'(
-
I have emailed and put in an offer. Hope it's not been sold yet? If it has, it would be a great shame. I'm guessing this would make a great first C5 - would anyone else agree?
Regards,
Mike

Mike - this C5 sounds almost too good to use, it should make a superb first C5.
If you are lucky enough to get hold of it I'd recommend giving it a service before taking it out on any of our meetings, purely because it doesn't seem to have been used much at all and could probably do with some greasing up of all the bearings etc.
-
Thanks. Just had an email today to say that someone is already going to collect and pay for it on Saturday, so looks like I am too late. Never mind. Yes, thanks for the service suggestion I hadn't thought about that. Blimey, I really hadn't thought about the servicing and maintaining expense - how stupid of me! It certainly looked like it has not been used so it'd definitely need looking at.
I'm now looking to purchase one. Any ideas where / who from?
Cheers,
Mike

Bad luck mate, Who has bought it ?

I think c5martin is working on another one at the moment, not yet finished so it hasn't been advertised as yet..... ;)
Sorry to hear you missed out on this c5 though, it does look awesome.
It seems that this forum is getting the results for people who are advertising their stuff on here :)

Yep, there's a guy called Dave visiting / collecting the C5 on Saturday. The reply from Jill said he was coming from S.cun.thorpe. (Sorry, I couldn't type the full name of the area as the forum configuration thought I was swearing!) Lucky bloke! Hope he enjoys it. Looks absolutely stunning is that C5! Never mind. I'm going to email C5 Martin right away to see what he has on offer.
Bare with me guys, I'm determined to get a C5 if it's the last thing I do! By the way, I definitely won't be buying this one - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/sinclair-c5_W0QQitemZ320419966247QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_Car_Parts_Vehicles_Automobila_ET?hash=item4a9a84ad27&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14
Isn't this the one which was for sale a while back and had been turned into a plant holder??

You could be right Mike, I do remember a green one appearing on Ebay before.
There might be more than one green meanie though, as there seems to be an increasing number of different C5's out there.
I know of more than one blue one, a couple of yellow ones, a couple of red ones, a black one and of course my own tiger stripe one - it's good to be different ;D :D
Variety is the spice of life after all 8)

Jill has been in touch to confirm this C5 has now been sold .
-
:'(
Damn! Will I ever get a C5 which is worth owning? I am now looking but cannot find a gem of a C5 to ride!
-
I hate to state the obvious, but it was sitting up there for sale since 15th August ......and only sold yesterday .
Same as when I had a c5 for sale a few months back, no interest from anyone for weeks and weeks, then had 3 buyers scrapping over it at once !
One of the "losers" even left the forum and slated me because of it !!
Moral of the story is : If you want it , get in there and buy it before someone else does :)
Not a rant or criticism , just an observation 8)
-
Thats sooo true Karl, its only a bargin if you buy it. To many ppl wanting things for now't.

I know, I know, but when it originally came up for sale, I didn't have enough money. Now I do and there's not one for sale.

Ahh, yes - the dreaded "cash flow" snag . If you're anything like me all the cash seems to flow the wrong way :o ;D
I'm sure one will crop up ... if any come my way (like Jill) I will put it up on the forum.
