Title: (* Ebay - auction ended *) Sinclair C5 For sale, very very reluctantly.
Post by: c you jimmy 5 on 11, September, 2009 - 19:02:20: I really don't want to do this but personel situations sees my rebuilt C5 up for grabs.
This really does pain me to do this but needs must and the cash will be useful.
This was an ebay purchase in April 08, i gave £245.00 for it and collected it from West Row, Suffolk. i am the 2nd owner the 1st having bought it after going and ordering it at the Ally Pally launch. He ran a cycle hire business in cambridge,(hence the CCH 001 numberplate) and intended to both hire and sell them. Due to the problems and then short life of it he only bought this one.
I have loads of paperwork with this they inclue the Press Pack from the launch, the C5 magazine,C5 brochure, 6 accessories brochures, various Sinclair printed documents including the spares list, Hoover repair receipts plus lots of local press cuttings with the 1st owner in them as he tried to drum up publicity with the new C5.
When i bought it the poor C5 hadn't run in years as it had stood in various sheds so it was FULLY stripped and the chassis blasted and painted. All grease points were done and the motor cleaned, a new rebuilt control unit was installed and a motor fan fitted. The body was cleaned and new decals fitted as were tyres and tubes. A Yuasa leisure battery at a cost of £40 was fitted, i have invoices, as was a new heavy duty chain. Here are photos of before, during and after. The pod DOESN'T work but this is not an issue. It took part in Rays Norfolk run last year and did it faultlessly. It also has a spare good car battery, i had this on board as a back up.
