RETRO CARS MAGAZINE June 2013
« on: 08, July, 2013 - 18:27:41 »
There is a 3 page article on the C5 in this edition.

http://retrocarsmag.com/pastissue.asp?issueID=66

I have managed to get the digital copy (flash player version) but couldn't find it in W.H. Smith, possibly available as back issue.

Not sure if the flash player version can be converted to PDF.

There is just the one C5 featured in this article, the owner is called Mike and is located in Mid Wales, he says "He has never ever met another C5 owner" and goes on to say that spares are available via the net etc etc.

Overall its a positive look at the C5 and describes it as "Pure punk rock Tech"

Plod, you just jogged my memory! How many owners do we all know by words but not by name or sight? With the 30th anniversary in just a year and a half I was going to ask for opinions on planning the biggest C5 get together known, with full media coverage and planned far enough ahead that people can actually plan to be there. Possibly Lotus, I was even thinking of seeing if Ally Pally would provide the same room as it was launched in, but location can be put to a poll. Initial opinions though, what do you think?

Sounds like a good idea, there was a similar event held at Brooklands for the 25 years.

I would be up for this, and i sure plenty of others will be.

Re Ally pally,  I think the orginal room is no longer there following the big fire, but i am sure its worth asking,  if  I remember though , enquires were made for the 25 year event to be held there, but it was mega bucks to hire.

Right, read the first page and I completely see your point. With Karl's consent I'd like to start a thread about this though as I've got a couple of ideas to make this one bigger. One thing not being considered is that London and Wales are very hard places for most Northern owners to get to, but I may know the perfect place... Gaydon. Nothing C5 related, granted there, but now we're officially 'cult icon' owners I really think we should be going for quantity on this one. Karl, mind if I test the water?
