Temporary Twin motor C5. 1450W total
« on: 13, February, 2013 - 20:58:00 »
For the next few days only  - my C5 has 2 motors, so I currently have a "Temporary Twin motor C5 hill climbing special".  24V 1450W total  :o :)

The existing 1200W Bosch motor is on the back, and a newly installed 250W hub motor on the front.

Old/Current 1200W:

New 250W Hub

The plan is to now take off the 1200W motor (completely illegal road wise - this thread has more about that) and just leave the new hub motor.

I now plan to post a new thread about installing the hub motor, including the bit of prep work needed, in the next days.

  • 4 legs may be better than 2 but 3 wheels better then anything!

Will be watching out for that thread as it's something I'd be tempted to do purely for hill climbing as I can't physically get the C5 up most of the roads round here, or get moving again at some junctions.
I had thought about a second motor from a mobility scooter, but there are some technical issues to resolve which really isnt within my comfort zone, but a hub motor could do the job nicely.

6mph wouldn't be a problem for me - it's only to get uphill and hill starts
