I was looking at the forum today and was curious as to why there wasn't much life on it today.  Then, it occured to me - you're all (or most of you are) at the Brooklands event!

Hope it went ok for all who attended, and that you had a fantasic time!

As one of the people who couldn't attend, I look forward to the YouTube video!  Let's hope it's not long before it's uploaded.

All the best,

Mike

Coming soon Umpa?  That's too long!  I have visions of these events being really cool and retro.  Then at the pit-stop would be Adam's one stop shop with more spares and accessories than you could ever dream of.  He must be like the equivelant to the C5 Ice-Cream van!

Adam was there and was selling goodies at a very nice discount  :)

As for the rest of the day,it was superb - but also we have now literally made history.

I am told that "challenger" (the hill climb project c5) , which made it up Test Hill, is officially the FIRST electric vehicle to do so  8)

It is also the first vehicle to be specifically built to tackle Test Hill since the Second World War , so we have seen history being made.

"challenger" also took part in the sprint time trial and managed 31mph over the 200m from a standing start. Given that it is geared for getting up Test Hill and not speed on the flat ,I thought it managed a very respectable time. If we alter the gearing it will go faster in a flat sprint.

As always a very big thank you to the Brooklands staff, especially Donna and Bob, for helping us with the "challenger" test runs and also inviting C5alive to this event. Donna sorted the free tickets for us, so an extra big hug for her  ;D

And lastly, thank you to everyone who took the time and trouble to come along and join in - Angie and I try out best to keep the events interesting and enjoyable. Seeing the level of support enjoyed by "c5alive" is what makes it worthwhile.

Now that the "Oscars" style thankyou speech is over, here are some piccies  :D

...I think the understatement of the day comes from Adam Harper referring to Dave who sorted "challenger" ;

"...that Dave is an interesting guy.."

Oh fantastic, looks like a blast!  Glad the weather held out for you all.  Who's the stig?

I'm guessing by the 2006 year stamp you had just changed the batteries?  Wow, what a day you guys have had.  It looks like everyone really has a blast and congratulations on the success - have you told Guinnes?

Another great event big shout out to Karl and Angie for arranging this A1 get together. The stig cruising up the test hill was fantastic - 'racing' on the test track was top's - Meeting and having a chat with Adam 'Santa' Harper is not to be missed. Altogether a great day out in C5 land. Nice to meet some of the forum dudes for the first time. We didn't even mind sitting on the M25 car park as I pondered shall I get the C5 out of the boot and nip along between the traffic - there again if I had Challenger i could be home in no time - watching the shop with intrest (C5 for sale with modified electric - 1 owner - suitable for extreme hill conditions..............

Hopefully we'll get there next year ( when we're all not suffering with stinky colds  :-[ )

I have uploaded some pics and video on to Fickr, not used it before so hope the link works ok.

I have a few more video clips to add, they were taken using the video setting on my camera so the quality may not be that good. I will put some more on later in the week.
