Title: Remade large drive cog
Post by: marra on 12, December, 2012 - 14:46:38
Hi all. Some pics of the steel drive cog . This is an exact fit to the correct tooth spec and numbers. Been busy milling, just have to press in the bearing and check all teeth are plotted correct. This has given me a migraine  :P . I will drill out some holes to lighten the cog by 30% . getting there though.

And for those who remember the 36/72 v conversion ( named Turnip below ) , then the next has started to come off the drawing board  ;D  ..... Oh Dave , yes you can have a motor frame.

Hi Craig,

just had a look at the link you posted, this is also a marvellous piece of work.

I wish

1. I could get away with such a machine here,

2. I could pay the prices you pay.

Quote
Sand blast and coat chassis, A frame and forks  = £ 40

OMG, to have just the frame coated I was quoted €80, and that's without sandblasting.  :( :( :(

I paid £65 for that job and that was in 2010.

I put allot of work their way, and sometimes its who you know. £40 is not the going rate, his price usually £55 - £60 depending on either a 5 or 10 day wait and when they do the color on other jobs. Grey for air commercial vents or other colours like the B+Q orange etc . Also since 2010 there are allot of companies being more realistic on their prices for competition as the country is in what could be described as ' A bit of a mess'.
