I have also tried but no reply same as yourself. Try and help people out and they can't be bothered even to return a call a bit of a poor show I think

Cheers

Not to worry , there will be other media stuff for us to take part in...I already have two more such events in the pipeline  ;D

More details to follow....but provisional dates (subject to change) are August 18th and second week of September.

Keep an eye on the events section for more info  ;)

Highways agency website has a timetable showing opening as end of july. I would go If I knew exactly when the opening was!

They seem to be heavily plugging it as the 'Longest road tunnel in the UK'. Then you read the small print which says 'Longest non-estuarial road tunnel in the UK'. It's then you realise that it's not particularly long. The Mersey tunnel is about twice the length. Still, I guess it's what you do with it which is more important...  ;)

Seems to be a lot of hype about not much.

By "longest" it is possible that they mean longest amount of holdups whilst making the tunnel. The A3 has been a nightmare for quite some time.

I spoke to the highways agency this morning thinking it would be cool to go along tomorrow and c5 through the tunnel as part of the opening. Although they think it will open tomorrow, the ceremony is private and the time is top secret! I'm guessing they might want to keep angry environmentalists away from the transport secretary?

probably explains why the media coverage has all gone quiet ..
