Title: Another newbie
Post by: thedesigntailor on 04, September, 2011 - 11:53:08
Hi guys

My name is Dan and I'm due to become one of the hallowed C5 brethern on Tuesday when Karl is coming to bring me his latest work of art http://c5alive.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=1989.0

I am a complete newbie - never even been in the same room as a C5 before but have always admired them from afar. I can't wait for Tuesday but I'm aware it's going to be a surprise for my girlfriend who doesn't know I've bought one and she thinks they're a bit silly and I will look an idiot driving about in it. My point is I look like an idiot walking about anyway so I might as well enjoy the C5 buzz.

A little about me... I'm 27 and design websites at www.makemeglow.com - I've always been a car lover but am selling (may have sold) a Mazda RX8 as I am only a couple of miles from work and don't use it. So I usually walk... or now... my new C5!!!

I live in Bristol in a church (well a flat in a covered Church) but am originally from Salisbury. We have a fluff ball of a cat called Mitzy and my girlfriend is into hulahooping.

That's all I can think of now.

Looking forward to joining the club. You all see like a nice bunch already!  ;D

That's good to hear Andy.

Is it ok in the rain? I understand that there are proper rain poncho things but they seem pretty rare.
I might just have to leave it at home those days.

Well, it's arrived! And what a beaut.

She's been named Cassie (by my girlfriend who already seems to be coming round) though I haven't been able to have much of a play as I would like as my new battery hasn't arrived yet.

But I had a peddle about...

Andy - Yes that is Dan's front door  8) He lives in a converted church and his flat is quite possibly the coolest flat I've ever been in ! Lovely quirky architecture .

Dan - good to meet you and glad you are so smitten with the c5, you were as excited as Neil (aka "copendriver") when he received his c5  ;D Had to smile when your neighbour came out and took your piccie while you were test driving it  :D It was also nice to see all the attention you got from passers by as well. I think your "new" c5 is going to settle in well at its new home  ;)

It was hilarious - had half the street out admiring it as well as some people from the office upstairs.

I think I'll get even more comments at work. Just can't wait for that flipping battery to arrive!

A converted church, my wife would love that, do you have grave stones in your garden ?

There is a coop funeral parlour opposite!

Hi Mate.

Welcome to C5 ownership. I also own a C5 that was restored by Karl & it's going great guns in London at the moment.

Be great to hear what commuting in it is like.

Been good so far - I've got secure storage at both ends so I'm not worried about getting it nicked.

I'm meant to be going to a meeting the other side of town tomorrow and I'm 50/50 wether it's worth the risk of not having a place to store it.

As a mode of transport it works perfectly
