Sounds like you certainly had an eventful day. Glad Carolyn's okay.

Looks like there was a very nice turn out of cars  ;D

A fantastic place and a great welcome from all the staff - we all enjoyed our day at Prescott -Some banter was had with the other pit crews and we looked forward to the turn of the c5's - Both C5'S making mince meat of the hill and the crowd most impressed - unfortunately Carolyn took the return bend rather too fast and lost control resulting in 3 stitches and plenty of bruising - she is ok and at work today but it has made us review our safety wear for future events - she has now been elevated to a motorsport legend in the house !!!!! All in all a lot of fun and a few lessons learnt - photo's to follow.

Sounds like a great weekend, except for the mishap, i must just say, that having had a brief go on Chalenger, it is very easy for it to get away from you. 8)

When i had that test Drive round the side roads Near Martys, i very nearly ended up as Carolyn.  ::)

Its easy to forget its not a standard C5  :'(

Hope she gets well soon, a real C5 legend, something to tell her Grand children  ;D

Wow looks like a great event, sorry to hear about Mrs Radio Marty, but sounds like she is alright, I hope she feels well very soon and will be able to get back into the C5 again without fear  :) Does this mean that she is the first person to actually crash in a C5 ?

Retro Andy.

As an experienced  hillclimber I know that in the early stages of ones career it was easy to forget that after the excitement of the run up the hill the  often steep and winding return road has to be negotiated at moderate pace. Most, if not all, organisers insist on full safety clothing for the run back to the paddock.
Hope the minor shunt doesn't put Mrs RadioMarty off motor sport and that her cuts and bruises heal really quickly.

..Challenger was the faster one you had a go on at Santa Pod , I think it was "Voodoo" you tested at Marty's place ?

Either way you are right in that increasing the performance of our c5's does also increase the hazards - trikes just aren't that stable at the best of times . Remember Adam Harpers 150mph c5 ? During the early stages of that build he stacked it at 70mph so bad things can happen when you're having fun even with the best precautions in place :o  The guys at Prescott Hill said the same as coverman, once people go past the Finish line the concentration naturally drops after the intensity of focusing on the course.

All part of the learning curve (couldn't resist that pun... ;D) for us all I guess and highlights how incredibly lucky we've been so far. As Marty says, proper gear from now on  :)

I think we need some "slip before tip" C5 stickers in honour of this event.  ;D

You are right Karl, i remember now ... :o

Voo doo did take a bit of stopping as i was fast approaching that road junction  :D

With Challenger, i remember the turning angle was a bit small, so its easy to understand how this incident happened with all that extra speed and RED mist ....   ;D ;D ;D ;D

Look forward to seeing the results of the accident investigation   :D :D

I spoke with Mrs Radiomarty today and she is slowly recovering...some of the bruises have started to fade - plus a few more are coming out  :o - but she's making progress.

Glad she's on the mend...especially with Brooklands coming up  ;D
