I have been testing everything before finishing putting everything back together again and have found that a couple of extra parts are needed, sorted out these with Karl earlier and will soon be here, then I can finish it all off and go for a test run.

Have been away for the week camping, but been finishing off John's C5 today, I have come up against two issue's, the first is that when the motor is running with the wheel off the ground all works fine, but when you try it with the wheel on the ground, it make a terrible noise when trying to turn and the belt comes off and the second fault is the pod isn't lighting up correct up the left
display, I think Karl will bring along some spares next week and help get it up and running  :)
Will add some pictures tomorrow, I think it has come up well.

Have you had the motor / gearbox apart ?  What condition was it in ?

Yes, had the motor/gearbox apart, cleaned and greased gearbox etc, didn't notice anything wrong, but I plan on taking the motor out and having another look.

Hi Retro Andy,
I found the same fault with a motor I had, it may be the same, so worth a look.

Coming off the motor brushes are two braided wires that then attach to the outer connector. This in turn is then attached to the RED & BLACK power cables. I found one of the braided wires not connected. This gave similar symptoms you are having. I used an old back end of a motor housing / brushes that I had spare but if this is your problem you should get spare from Karl.

Hope this helps

Lance

Many thanks, you might be onto something with that, plus I think I have a spare end from when I restored mine, will try that next.
