Title: hello
Post by: madvanman on 27, February, 2012 - 14:33:27
Hi i just joined :)
ive had 2 c5s since i was 15 (27 years ago :o) they were in bad shape but drivable when i got them since they were ex fair ground attractions.
They caused quite a stir when me and my brother used them to ride to school every day :)

they have been sat in my parents garden for the last 20 years , ive now decided to have a go at restoring one of them.

my other half thinks I'm mad and trying to get back my youth since I've recently gone back to driving an 80's reliant 3 wheeler and dusted off my collection of spectrum's and started using them again :)

Good luck with the restoration I also have 2 c5s one is in excellent condition and the other one needs a light restoration which I am in the process of doing. THis is a good forum with alot of people who can offer help etc so I am sure you will get the job done.

That chassis has had some repairs. I would be looking for a new one..................

Would be difficult to see or get it square...................

Would look funny seeing a C5 'Crabbing' along the road...........

I had a BMW Z3 that had that issue......................

whoa..if that's the better of the two chassis , what does the other one look like ?  I agree though, it will take some work but could be salvaged.

If you want to take a shortcut I could sell you a replacement chassis already painted and ready for use that I have ready for one of my own restoration projects. Email me if you're interested.

I agree with Karl & Lance. If I were in your situation I would be looking for a replacement chassis. There are a lot of better ones around.
