How can I make my C5 earn its keep?

(1/2) > >>

nova:
I bought my C5 on a whim about a year ago and since that time its just been collecting dust, sacrilage or what?It was on the road already when I bought it so I doubt if it will need anything much if at all to get it going again. The point is love them or hate them these little gems have a secure place in history and I think too they have a potential today. Any suggestions what I could do with it? Where ever it goes it guarentees to stop people in their tracks. So for this reason I feel sure it could work for me as a specialist rental vehicle maybe in films or advertising or even education.I think I know where I want to go with it but not sure how to get there.Any suggestions gratefully received.

Good thinking. I was planning on selling 'boot space' because mine is cream crackered as it is, with a big plaque on the back.

Without doubt there is a lot of interest in the C5, but when you ask people to pay for stuff it becomes a different ball game. If you're going into the rental game, you will have to meet certain legal requirements such as public liability insurance. Compiling a suitable risk assessment to satisfy the local council may also cause its own headaches. I'd expect this day and age you will need some sort of permit/licence.

Then you will need to decide how many C5's you will be running, and what their running costs will be - plus expect some damage to be caused through accidents/abuse etc.

Not saying it can't be done, just that you need to do a lot of research to ascertain if it is economically viable.

We allowed people to use our C5's at Brooklands recently, but the museum covered the liability insurance , first aider requirement & risk assessments. There was no fee for the ride - simply a £1 donation straight to the museum.

I reckon the best possible use for your C5 is to come along to the meetings and enjoy yourself  ;D

Might put a C5alive/yourc5/link to my c5 blog or similar sticker over the back of the boot - I've got about 3000000 screw holes in it.

This is the best part of owning a c5 getting out with some other's having a ice cream and a nice cold pint
