I completely dismantled my C5, ready for cleaning and painting.
Hopefully I get it back in shape after that...

Looking good so far my friend, it seems to be a good sound c5 to start with.

Its a great feeling stripping your C5 for restoration, enjoy the fun and keep posting the pictures of the stages as you go, its always nice to see another C5 saved and being used.

14 new pictures added.

It only tool my one day, to paint it, let it dry for 5 hours and put everything back together and clean some of the bearings. Only two screws missing in the end ;-), the small screws of the light switch.

You can also see in the picture that the big gear has a crack, this has no influence on the driving performance.
When I drive it now it feels more stable and makes less noise.

Very impressive , you should have worked on the Sinclair production line at the Hoover factory.

They would have had twice as many C5's in half the time    ;D

Something for the winter months mate, this week i have stripped down the motor and gearbox, cleaned and lubricate all parts, adjusted brakes, cleaned rear shoe, fitted new brake blocks and Charlie sounds a lot better for it, its worth doing every year as it had quite a lot of dirt and grit in the workings.
