Motor temperature sensor - do I need one?
« on: 21, May, 2014 - 19:16:18 »
Hi, currently I have 12v set-up with C5alive wiring kit, normal POD and the motor temp sensor attached to the end of the motor.

I would like to fit a cooling fan to the motor, but there is little room for a 120mm fan, as the temp sensor gets in the way.

If I remove the temp sensor from the motor and tie it off, will the C5 still work (will the POD need a reading from the sensor, or will it assume no heat therefore act as if there is no overheating)? I'm aware it would remove one safety mechanism from the POD control, but wondered whether it will just permanently cut the motor without the right signal from the sensor.
