How comfortable is the seat cushion?
« on: 09, June, 2009 - 09:58:21 »
Hi folks!

I'm interested in the seat cushion for the C5.
But it looks quite thin on pictures. Can anyone tell if it really makes a difference in comfort?
Or would you rather advise to make some self-made cushion?

Regards

Phil

Making one yourself might be a bit tricky , due to the shape more than anything else :-\

Adam still sells them so availability isn't a problem at the moment.

My wife finds the cushion useful, plus Umpa and Kurt also say they make the C5 more comfortable.

Personally I'm well padded so don't feel the need  :P

Thanks Karl

Unfortunately the order form on sinclair-research seems offline. I also wrote Adam Harper an e-mail some days ago to enquire for wing mirros - but got no reply till now.
I Guess I have to call him this weekend.

To say they are thin, they sure take the jolt away from your spine. You will have to find away of securing it down tho. I used silicone sealent in the end which had proven very effective.

You might find sending a text message to Adam is the best way of contacting him , he is usually quite quick to respond.

His number is listed on the link under "Friends of C5alive" , on the main c5alive website front page.

Sorry, it's not.

On sinclair-research.co.uk there is a tel number (078 .. 09) but this isn't a mobile number?!

err, actually yes it is !

click on Friends of c5alive...
http://www.c5alive.co.uk/friends.htm

then click on The Only Uk Authorised C5 Dealer...
http://www.sinclair-research.co.uk/c5

..and that takes you direct to the page that Umpa has copied ,which lists Adam Harpers contact details.

You either write to him in the traditional manner, or phone or text his mobile.

He doesn't list an email address or a "landline" number.

"Sincair Research" and "Sinclair Vehicles" are essentially two different companies.

Thanks to Karl and Umpa

I was simply looking on http://www.c5alive.co.uk/friends.htm for any phone numbers and found none there.

There are currently some C5 parts on eBay and I gained a set of new old rear wheels.
Therefore I will wait some days to see if it's complete with all screws before ordering spares from Adam.

For what its worth, I have bought some bits off Adam and whilst I wish he would do paypal (as I hate cheques) he has always got the order correct and has always sent top notch genuine parts.

Which reminds me - I need to ask him if he will bring me some bits to Brooklands.
