The Painted C5 Du Du Du Dum!
« on: 17, August, 2009 - 16:01:44 »
Well,as I previusly stated,I purchase a great c5,with mirrors and indicators,at one time sold on EBay for £475,then offered to me for £300,to which I replied an offer of £250.
Excepted, but after an 80 mile trip to collect it,found it was painted white!
So to save a wasted journey,offered £150.
On getting it home,I put a battery on it and it run!!!
Even the pod lights up.Put some tubes in the tyres, and tried it out.
Motor fine but one problem.
Main sprocket gone US.
So today, changed the axle, and now all is well.
This C5 even has a seat cushion!
Now what to do with it next???

What idea's do you have Ray, will you be keeping it a standard C5, or will it be modified in some way ? Or as this one seems to get cheaper, you could always sell it to me for £75.00  ;D

Sounds like a nice cheap C5 mate, if it looks as though it will clean up okay why not remove the paint and see what its like underneath ?

If it turns out to be a real horror story you could then repaint it  ;)

MMM,A tempting offer?
But I think I must let it pass.
Or did you make a typing error, should it have been £750???

I did take a mirror off and try and remove the paint, but after 30 mins gave up.Unless you know an easy way to remove it.
It is a shame,as it is in very clean condition underneath, probably one of the best I have.

Never tried myself but suggest caustic soda (with protective gear)

Oh well, it was worth a try, let me know Ray when you do need to let one go, I know you said that you are running out of space.
If you would like to bring it along to me at work one lunch time then I would try using are pressure washer, it cleaned mine up well, also the cleaners have different cleaning materials that could be tryed or I've got a mate just down the road who has a car body repair/paint shop and might have something that would do the trick.
It would be good to see you and i'm not far, so let me know Ray if you wish me to have a go.

I realy apreciate the offer Andy but desided to give it a go myself, with the Nitro.Boom Boom.hehehe
Ran out and just go some more.
The work involved must be just for love,as it is not realy worthwhile.
Still,I am commited and this c5 will eventually become a clean useable C5.

The shed is 10' by 8' and I think the company are fantastic.
They deliver from the midlands and also erect the shed.
Floor boards are 1'' thick as well. Not bad I think for £500 all in?
A 12' by 8' was only £540!
I know, that is a lot of money but keep in mind,it is for my babies!
I think I will get 7 including the Ubmobile inside, standing on end!
Unfortunatley the ubmobile cant be stood on end,so takes more room up.
"Now where can I errect the next one?"
