Great day at Wickstead Park - Loads of Raleigh Choppers and retro bikes and some very interesting choice of clothing. Funny point of the day was our decision to move our 'pitch' and drive (carry) our C5's over a wooden type bridge with lots of bends to be more in the action - we went chasing the mid day parade and had great fun racing around the track with all the retro bikes and even an ice cream bike with full refrigerated load zooming around the track- the organizers looked after us well providing free drinks and a meal.Matthew was also photographed by our local press in Goldfinger .

Now any C5 event wouldn't be the same with out a few hiccups and I was lucky enough to provide them for Plod and Ray !!!! - After sitting static for the first part of the day providing photo's for kids to sit in and chatting with the public we were powering up for the mid day parade when 'Archie' refused to come to life - followed by some frantic wiggling of wires he finally fired up and I chased madly after the parade - with them insight my light's started flashing and I could smell that tell tale burning smell from my control box. Upon further investigation the negative power lead had melted and shorted across the motor. Its funny how being so busy restoring other peoples C5'S my own c5 had become neglected - This was our first c5 and has given us 3 years with no problems so i never touched it after buying it - lesson learnt its now in the 'workshop' for a full Radiomarty rewire and power wiring kit to be fitted !!!
Ironically Goldfinger was the second source of entertainment when just prior to going on the track some of the gang from 'Pimp my bike' in return for letting Matt play on many of there great creations wanted to have a go on Goldfinger - on the second run the Chinese cheap e-bay controller blew when a 'larger' person pushed to the limited during pedaling with the brake held on and the throttle on full - A blessing in disguise as my worries about the reliability/suitability of these cheap (£8) controllers not lasting showed true and we are now going to replace it with a more refined device.

All in all a great day out many thanks to all at wickstead for their hospitality - thanks also to Ray and Plod for joining in the fun and the laughter and jibes at my misfortune also pointing out it was the 13th !!! :D :D :D :D - hoping this event will become part of the C5Alive calendar :) :) :) :) :)

Photo's to follow !!!

Oh no, sorry to hear you've now got a couple of repair jobs to add to the list  :o

But it does sound like it was worth it  ;D

By the look of things this does  seem to be a "must" for next years list of meetings and events  8)

Did you get to race the c5s round the go kart track? I reckon they would keep up with those petrol cars!

Brilliant day all round, (even with the breakdowns)  ;D  It was best they did what they did there , rather than on a run.

(Marty -You want to take your Control board to that bloke on the Forum that repairs them, he's suppose to be quite good !  ;D)

Weather started off a bit "Iffy" but by the end of the day we had sunshine and sunburn..

Track was fantastic, ideal for the C5

Got a few pics of the day and some video, will up load some of that when i get a spare minute.

I wanted to go back today, but got to work this afternoon.  :'(

Worth keeping an eye out for next years date  8)
