Looking at the penny farthing, has it got spokey dokey's on the front wheel ?

Retro Andy

the penny farthing in the picture is actually a replica built about 6 years ago, each of the spokes is actually two joined together to keep the costs down and to make it easier to find replacements.

I've seen this event advertised in Classic Car Weekly, so it should be a big crowd on the day..... ;)

Martin is busy in his shed developing some ideas to help him get his c5 up that hill... :-X

Fingers crossed for some half decent weather !

Shaping up to be a good event  8)

top man, I'll add you to the list !

Some more good news ;

Adam Harper has accepted the invite to join us for this event as well.

I've asked him to bring along some more goodies ,same as last time, so don't forget your beer tokens   ;)

Revised list of those attending (in no particular order) ;

Me
Angie
Martin
Steve
Adam
wizbat
fez
Kurt
Ray

Any others wanting to participate must let me know asap , closing date for the entry form is Thursday 12th March

Some other info received today, "..all drivers and riders of vehicles ascending Test Hill at this event will receive a special 100th Anniversary Test Hill Certificate "

The event will also include as many as possible of the surviving pre-war cars & motorcycles that competed, or were built, at Brooklands.

There will also be modern bicycles and cars , plus a running ace up the hill  :o

During the lunch brake there will be rides up the hill for the public.

So quite a bit scheduled for the day  ;)

We have been allocated 12 tickets for c5 riders,plus 12 tickets for support staff.

Any additional tickets needed will have to be purchased, either by using a Ticket Order form to provide discount , or full rate on the day at the gate. You will need to be quick if ordering in advance ,closing date is 14th March (I have copies of the form).

Looking forward to the big day  8)

I've received "joining instructions" for the day, plus a proposed timetable of events.

The info has been emailed to those that want to attend, but to summarise ;

- all entrants have to be there for between 8am & 9am

- for those bringing along a C5
your entry tickets will be at the gate, either myself or a "volunteer" will be there to meet you.

- satnav postcode KT13 0QN

- late arrival; should you arrive after 0930 then access is not guaranteed

If Norfolk is a bit out of your way, you could stop over at my place if you need it mate  :)

A reminder for those that are still coming along, I will have all the entry tickets . Same as at last Septembers event I'll meet you at the gate  ;).

The organisers ask that we are all on site by 9am at the latest, ready to allow public access and prepare for the opening ceremony etc.

Adam Harper has again confirmed he will be attending  8)

It was good to see Adam again, and he had even more stuff with him this time - a proper Alladins cave of goodies up for grabs !

He has said he will try and get to the September event as well, but I'll provide more details nearer the time.

Meanwhile, here are a few more piccies from this excellent event ;

I've got 70 photo's to sort through, I'll post a few more later  8)
