Fingers crossed it thaws a bit  :-\

If not, you are most welcome to pop down the day before - Steve lives opposite and has offered some space, plus we can put a few people up.

Just a thought  ;)

Good stuff  ;)

Don't forget, just a quick reminder for everyone, if you are bringing along any electrical equipment it must be PAT tested or you wont be allowed to plug it in.

crikey, so we have kit thats 25 years old - even those with modern chargers will fall foul if it's over a year old (as i understand it kit under a year is exempt).

hmmm! wonder if we got a really big extension lead, had that PAT tested - then we al lug into that  ???

 ;D ;D ;D

i stil hope to be there but must admit, if the weather is likely to be iffy, no way am i risking camping out on the M25  :-\

The weather's looking interesting for Brooklands this weekend  :o

Just checked on the Brooklands site and it's actually closed today due to the weather. To be updated tomorrow.

I had a word with my works electrician this morning about that.  Turns out that you’re right and wrong! It’s up to Brooklands if they accept the one year rule or not.  They can and may insist items are PAT tested.

You are right - I have to accept that the situation is looking a bit grim  :-[

If things don't improve we might have to consider the "unthinkable" as it simply is not worth people putting themselves at risk travelling in such bad conditions.

Looks bad as museum is closed Today and Tomorrow.

Will find out Friday exactly what is happening for weekend.

Although It is set to be Snowing all week and into the wekend.
If the met office is to be belived.

It looks worse than I first thought...

Just received this from Brooklands;

Hi Karl

As Donna is away, I thought I would let you know that the VSCC Driving Tests have been postponed from Sunday until the 7th February in view of the snow.  The Museum is closed today and tomorrow and we will have to make a decision as to what to do about Friday and the weekend tomorrow.  I don’t know if you want to think about rescheduling your event – we will be open if we possibly can be on Sunday, but I thought I would give you the heads up on what is happening.

I don't think it would be wise for anyone to travel far in these conditions, so we should give some serious thoughts to rescheduling the date of our event. If the situation does not improve the decision is likely to be made for us anyway as we cant use Brooklands if its closed .

Even if there is a small chance of it being open, it still might be worth changing the date, as we have that option.

It does look like this weather is going to continue, and we might end up with only half of us managing to get there, and no one else turning up, which would be a huge shame.

Have to admit the sensible option here would be to reschedule.

that gets my vote, common sense has to prevail. look at it this way, even if half a dozen do make it who else (customer wise) will likely show?

this could be a bigger non event than the original AP launch and we don't want to 'celebrate' that element do we?

we also have think of the Brooklands staff and our true respect for them, if we say we will continue at all costs, they someone may will feel 'duty bound' to be there to not to let us down.

do we really want to risk feeling responsible if one of them got hurt in an RTA, trying to get t the venue, just because we were being a bit too selfish to postpone?

i've already decided not to attend on Sunday

dissapointing i know, but imo re-arrange, but not the wekend of the Bike Show :)

If is on, I'm going, but if not so be it, would be a real shame not to have the anniversary on the 10th after planning and looking forward to the event for over a year. But the safety of us all is most important.
