Project '85
« on: 25, September, 2011 - 16:03:07 »
After seeing Martys i thought i'd show you a picture of my next project  :)

It's colour is currently black, although there are hints of blue underneath, and even bits of the original white  :D
After a good going over with wet 'n' dry and a hose down ( it's wet in the pics, so not that shiny  :D ), the paint seems to stick, so it looks like whoever painted it prepped it well.

It will be getting another coat of paint ( white ) but it won't be staying that way  ;) ;D

I was going to go for rat look, but then had a bit of a crazy / silly / mad idea so am going with that. Not sure how it'll turn out, but i'll post pics when it's finished  ;D

What ever you do you should try for a gloss look - they look fantastic in these photos

Any hints on what you're planning?

Those in the pics do look very cool.

I don't think mine will be that shiny  :D, and the only hint is : 1985  ;D  Underneath will probably be standard, unless i get hold of a 24v chassis and electrics that's not too pricey.

No, although that would probably look quite cool ... a C5 with a flux capaciter sticking out the boot  :D
Maybe that's an idea for the future ( just realised after typing that that is actually quite a bad play on words  :D )

Made a start on Project 85 today. It's a bit time consuming, but so far looking quite good. Hopefully over the next few weekends i'll have the body finished, and then i'll be searching for a chassis to put it on  :)

Sorry, still no pics yet though ... have to wait till it's finished  :D ;D

Being a black C5, I would turn it into a knight rider K.I.T.T, but looking forward to seeing what you do with this one. My thoughts are we going to see a replica JPS C5 ?

It's actually no longer black. After a light rub down, it had a light respray in white. But the colour of the shell has no link to what the end product will look like  ??? :D ;D

It's still sitting in my garage  :D :D

It's mostly done, but just haven't had the time recently to get it finished. I'm hoping to get back on it soon though  ;D
